Glimpse of Akshaya Trust
Akshaya’s Helping in H.E.L.P. Trust was established as a charitable organisation supporting the needy in Madurai, India in 2002.
Utilizing his own personal savings, our founder Narayanan Krishnan fed around 30 people. In 2003, he began to serve feshly-cooked meals, and has since served over 1.7 million meals as of August 2011.Expanding the visibility to a much larger audience in 2010, Akshaya Trust was founded to support Akshaya’s Helping in H.E.L.P. Trust.
Action Plan
Our Sparsha team member got inspired by the founder of Akshaya trust and here is the story, “The founder of that NGO (Narayan Krishnamurthi) is a great chef who works in five-star hotels like Taj, etc. Because of one incident in his life, he left his job and started this NGO. He got an award as Top 10 hero of our nation in 2010 from CNN channel. Also, there is a movie named Ustad Hotel in Malayam, where his story is added“.
And our Sparsha member is a donator to the Akshaya Trust for the past 8 years and upon approaching them asking what and how we can help, Akshaya trust shared some grocery or Other needs and also some Meal plans. And we the Sparsh team, donated some amount for a 1-day Meal plan for around 500 people.
